The research project “Universality and potentials of acceptance of social scientific knowledge. The circulation of knowledge between Europe and the global South” at Freiburg University, Germany, invites applications for the following positions
1 x 75% post-doctoral position

1 x 50% doctoral position

1 x 50% position for administrative support to the project management

 The project shall be funded through the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) initiative “Freedom for Research in the Humanities”, under the topic “Europe seen from the outside”. The Gates Award for Global Health

In December, 2000, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced the establishment of the International Gates Award for Global Health. The Gates Award has been established to recognize an organization yearly that has made a major and lasting contribution to the field of global health. The prize consists of a distinctive award sculpture and a prize amount of 1 million dollars. The nomination deadline for the Gates Award is October 31, 2008. Alfa Fellowship Programme

The Alfa Fellowship Programme is a high-level professional development exchange programme placing 10 qualified American citizens per year in work assignments at leading organisations in Russia in the fields of business, economics, journalism, law, and public policy. Key goals of the Alfa Fellowship Programme are expanding networks of American and Russian professionals, developing greater intercultural understanding, and advancing US/Russian relations. The programme includes language training, seminar programes and extended professional experience. Fellows receive travel, free housing, monthly stipends and insurance.
