The School of International Development is approved by the Economic and Social Research Council for receipt by postgraduate students of ESRC research studentships, based on evaluation of its postgraduate research programmes and the training offered in them.
If you are considering full-time PhD study with us under a grant from the Economic and Social Research Council we invite you to bring your ideas to us to see if we can help you prepare your application. [England] 1910 Centenary PhD Scholarships

Langham Partnership is working with a number of centres of theological training in the UK to offer four PhD scholarships starting in October 2010, as a way of marking the centenary of the Edinburgh World Missionary Conference of 1910. The scholarships are for PhD students from the Majority (Developing) World. They are available for study at Oxford Centre of Mission Studies, Edinburgh University, London School of Theology and International Christian College, Glasgow.

PhD Studentships-Scholarships in UK

A total of 35 funded PhD positions will be available from 2009-2013 in four U.K. universities: LAncaster, Nottingham, Cardiff and Southampton (LANCS).The U.K.’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) has awarded the LANCS initiative grants to a total of  5.4 million GBP to support the development of research capacity in Operational Research (OR) at these four collaborating universities.  This, together with additional support coming from the universities themselves, means that during the period 2008-2013, a 13 million GBP investment will be made. Geography Postgraduate Scholarship in UK

University of Manchester England prepare postgraduate scholarship bursary of £2,000, which is automatically deducted from student’s fee at enrollment. The full 2009-10 Overseas Fee for Masters program within the discipline of Geography is £10,800. Must be used for full time study in the 2009-10 academic year. This funding is available to international students, including Indonesia student.

Bursaries are for study on Postgraduate Taught Masters within the discipline of Geography, as detailed below:

PhD Scholarships at the LSE

For 2009 entry, the School is offering a number of full scholarships for new PhD students. The scholarships cover fees and living expenses of £13,000 each year for three years. They are available for Home UK/EU and Overseas students undertaking research in any LSE discipline, with annual renewal subject to satisfactory academic performance at the School. Asia Research Fellowship

This scheme provides support for postdoctoral researchers from a number of Asian countries for up to one year. The Asian countries, which the fellowship programme includes, are: China, India, Japan, South Korea and South-East Asia – Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The research undertaken must be on a subject within the natural sciences, including: physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, engineering science, agricultural, and medical research.
